Human Resource Management is focused on development of an integrated package of policies and procedures with the objective of effective and efficient management of people, then recruitment and selection involves the vital stages in the finalisation of employees on whom the policies will be applied and those who will follow the procedures. Recruitment and Selection refers to the processes that organization employs to solicit, contact and interest potential appointees, and then establish whether it would be appropriate to appoint any of them.

Role of Management in Recruitment and Selection

Management has this responsibility to influence this process so that it results in advantage for the business, different sections of the organisation may have different interests, Organization has to make sure that business interests prevail. It is of utmost importance that potential employers understand the labor and market conditions, and balance of power will keep on shifting, it may be that employers are in more powerful position whereas employees could also be in a state where they can influence their demands on the employer.

It is thus important that business does understand the conditions so that they do not lose on valuable talent. for instance, New graduates might not have power to negotiate terms for employment, whereas experienced and skilled labor force are in more better position to dictate their terms to the management.
